My name is Charles. This is my website.

This site is my own personal dumping ground for all of my various interests, rants, ideas, thoughts, photos, etc. I also use the site as an archive for all the things that I would otherwise forget if I didn’t write them down (that part applies mainly to I.T. related items)… sometimes other people find these things useful as well (and it saves me the trouble of re-typing e-mails to people with questions ) so I put ‘em up.

You’ll also find my contributions to the Free Software community (only the ones that I deem as ‘tame’ enough to be released into the wild). The ‘Project Index‘ page is where you’ll find the various items that occupy my time; things like: Beer Recipes, Scripts, Programs, and my Photography (that is progressively getting better as time goes on I might add ). This site is a work in progress, and that’s how it’s going to stay. I’m naturally restless and I tend to get bored easily so don’t be surprised if you visit one day and see that I’ve moved everything around (or replaced/removed it completely).

Some personal history:

I grew up as an Army brat; never living in the same place for more than two years consecutively until I joined the Army and was stationed at Schofield Bks., Hawaii. I went to High School at Muskingum Perry Career Center in Zanesville, Ohio, where I graduated from the Electronics Technology program. I served in the U.S. Army (active duty) as a 74B (Informations Systems Operator/Analyst) from 1998 – 2004. I attended Basic Combat Training (Boot Camp) at Ft. Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Gordon, GA. In December 1998 I was stationed at Schofield Bks., Hawaii with the 25th ID(L). In 2003, I was deployed to Kuwait and later on, Iraq for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. I moved to Maryland in 2004 after being Honorably Discharged from the Army. I currently reside in the D.C. area with my wife, Makenzie and our two Jack Russell Terriers.
